Fast-food chain celebrates its signature frozen dessert on the anniversary of its first restaurant opening
Wendy’s is officially marking November 15, 2025, as the first-ever worldwide “Frosty Day,” creating an annual celebration for the company’s most recognizable dessert. The date coincides with the anniversary of the opening of the first Wendy’s restaurant in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio.
The Frosty, introduced by founder Dave Thomas as one of the chain’s original five menu items, has remained a fixture on Wendy’s menu for more than five decades. The company says the new holiday will recognize the dessert’s cultural staying power and global fan base.
New Seasonal Flavor Launches Alongside the Celebration
To mark the occasion, Wendy’s is offering a limited-time Snickerdoodle Cookie Frosty Fusion in U.S. restaurants. This new item blends the Vanilla Frosty with a cinnamon-flavored snickerdoodle sauce and cookie crumbles.
According to Lindsay Radkoski, Wendy’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, the Frosty represents both “tradition and innovation” for the brand. Radkoski said it was fitting that November 15 now carries official recognition as Frosty Day, calling it a “new tradition dedicated to loyal customers and Frosty fans.”
While the Frosty has long been a U.S. favorite, Wendy’s says the dessert has become increasingly popular abroad, with international menu variations such as:
- Biscoff Frosty in the U.K., featuring Biscoff crumb topping
- Caramel Toffee Frosty in Canada
The company also noted that Ohio remains the “Frosty capital,” selling more Frosty desserts in 2024 than any other U.S. state.
Wendy’s plans to make Frosty Day an annual event, inviting fans around the world to join in celebrating the dessert’s legacy each November 15.
