Brach’s Releases Cane Opener to Make Opening Candy Canes Easier This Holiday Season

Brach’s, one of the most recognizable names in holiday candy, is introducing a new gadget to help solve the struggle of opening candy canes without breaking them or getting caught in plastic.

The company announced The Brach’s Cane Opener, a handheld device that helps unwrap candy canes quickly and cleanly. The patent-pending tool can also hang on a Christmas tree as an ornament, a practical touch, given that 60% of Americans use candy canes for decorating, according to the company.

The device will go on sale on November 17 at 7 p.m. ET, available exclusively through TheCaneOpener.com for $5, plus tax. Each purchase includes a box of Brach’s Candy Canes. The product will be available only while supplies last.

Kelly Peyser, Director of Brach’s and Seasonal Marketing at Ferrara Candy Company, said the new opener was inspired by customer feedback about the difficulty of unwrapping the traditional treats.

“We know the struggle is real when it comes to opening them,” she said, adding that the limited-edition item offers a lighthearted fix to a common holiday hassle.

In addition to the launch, Brach’s will make its third consecutive appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, returning with its “Palace of Sweets” float, a candy-themed display featuring a three-story gingerbread house and a rotating peppermint-decorated tree.

Brach’s peppermint products, including its classic candy canes, mini canes, and peppermint nougats, are currently available in stores nationwide and online.
