Skyline Chili Ice Cream Returns After Viral Success

A once-controversial ice cream flavor that quickly won over fans is back, just in time for National Chili Month.

Graeter’s Ice Cream and Skyline Chili have announced the return of Skyline Spice Ice Cream, the unexpected mashup of sweet dessert and savory chili spices that caused a national stir when it first launched last year. The limited-edition flavor is now available both online and in stores.

Combining Graeter’s rich French Pot ice cream, crunchy oyster crackers, and Skyline’s iconic chili spice blend, the flavor became the fastest-selling and most talked-about product in Graeter’s 150-year history. It also earned the title of Dairy Foods Magazine’s 2025 Dairy Product of the Year.

“When Skyline Spice Ice Cream completely sold out in just over a week, we knew we had to bring it back,” said Graeter’s CEO Richard Graeter.

Originally released as a one-time collaboration, the flavor defied expectations and gained a following across the country. It will now be available by the pint and by the scoop at all Graeter’s scoop shops, as well as in 5-ounce servings at Skyline Chili restaurants.

Nationwide shipping is also available through Graeters.com, and the product will be stocked at select retailers including Kroger, Dorothy Lane Market, and Jungle Jim’s.

Skyline Chili CEO Dick Williams called the flavor’s comeback “an unexpected flavor sensation,” adding that its popularity showed “great flavors know no boundaries.”

The limited-time re-release is expected to run through the fall or until supplies last.
