Frozen Vegetables Recalled Over Listeria Risk in Multiple States

A New York-based food company is recalling frozen vegetable products distributed across the East Coast and parts of the South after tests detected potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Endico Potatoes Inc., based in Mount Vernon, issued the recall for its Endico brand frozen peas and carrots and mixed vegetables. The products were distributed to stores and food service providers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Florida between July 18 and August 4, 2025.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall as of yet.

The affected products include Peas and Carrots and Mixed Vegetables.

Both products were sold in 2.5-pound clear plastic bags under the Endico label. The lot codes are printed on the side of the packaging.

The contamination was discovered through routine testing conducted by state health officials in Pennsylvania. The company has halted distribution of the products while the FDA and Endico Potatoes continue investigating the source of the contamination.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and potentially fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. In pregnant women, the infection can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth. Healthy individuals may experience symptoms such as fever, nausea, and diarrhea.

Consumers who purchased the affected products are advised not to eat them and to return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Questions can be directed to the company at 1-800-431-1398.
