Chipotle Launches “Chip-or-Treat” Halloween Rewards Program

Chipotle Mexican Grill is launching a new Halloween-themed promotion called “Chip-or-Treat,” offering weekly rewards to its loyalty program members throughout October.

The campaign, which runs from October 6 through October 30, allows Chipotle Rewards members to earn up to four different perks such as free guacamole, double protein, or bonus rewards points by purchasing an entrée each week.

Rewards are issued by email after each qualifying purchase and are valid for five days.

This initiative expands on the restaurant’s long-standing “Boorito” Halloween promotion, which will return for its 25th year on October 31. Details of this year’s Boorito event will be released later in the month.
The company is tapping into the seasonal nostalgia surrounding trick-or-treating.

According to a 2024 survey by Ferrero North America, 77% of adults report feeling nostalgic about the Halloween tradition.

To participate, members must buy a regular entrée either in-store, through the Chipotle app, or via the website, and scan their Rewards account at the time of purchase.

Entrées that qualify include burritos, bowls, salads, and three-taco orders. One reward is available per week.

New members who sign up for the Chipotle Rewards program also receive a free guacamole offer after their first purchase.

In addition, Chipotle recently launched “Chipotle U Rewards,” a separate program aimed at college students, offering bonus points and milestone incentives tied to their academic journey.

More information on eligibility and full terms can be found on Chipotle’s website.
