Chili’s Brings Back Viral MozzMates Costume with Chance to Win Date with JaNa Craig

Chili’s Grill & Bar is bringing back its viral Nashville Hot Mozz costume just in time for Halloween, with a new competitive twist this year.

Starting October 1, the MozzMates costume will be available for fans who want to show their love for the chain’s popular Fried Mozz appetizer…and potentially win a date with reality TV star JaNa Craig.

Through September 30, you can win a date with JaNa Craig by posting an Instagram or TikTok video using #ChilisMozzMates explaining why you’d be the perfect pair for JaNa.

The two-person costume, which first made waves in 2023, sold out in 20 minutes last year. The return of the “MozzMates” costume comes after Chili’s saw immense success with its Nashville Hot Mozz item and a popular social media trend centered around the dish’s dramatic cheese pull.

The viral sensation helped propel Chili’s Fried Mozz to new cultural relevance, with the chain selling over 41 million Triple Dippers in its most recent fiscal year.

Chili’s is leaning into this momentum by partnering with JaNa Craig, known for her appearances on reality television, to offer a unique opportunity for fans to win a date with her.

Through September 30, individuals can enter a contest by posting a video on Instagram or TikTok using the hashtag #ChilisMozzMates and explaining why they would be the ideal partner for JaNa. The winner will be invited to Chili’s for a real-life date, with the MozzMates costume an optional (but encouraged) choice for the evening.

“We saw how much people loved the MozzMates costume last year and the response to the cheese pull trend, so it just made sense to take it a step further and add a little extra fun with JaNa Craig,” said Jesse Johnson, Chili’s Vice President of Marketing. “Fans get to pull the cheese, and now they have the chance to be the cheese this Halloween.”

To further celebrate the spooky season, Chili’s is also bringing back its Witches Brew Marg, one of last year’s most popular drinks. This seasonal margarita, priced at $6 for the month of October, is made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, blue curaçao, Monin Granny Smith Apple syrup, and house-made sour mix. The drink is garnished with a witch’s broom swizzle stick, adding to the Halloween vibe.

Last year, the Witches Brew Marg helped Chili’s serve over one million margaritas.

The MozzMates costume will be available exclusively at welcometochilis.com starting October 1 at 11 a.m. ET for $75.

Fans hoping to score one should act fast, as the costumes are expected to sell out quickly once again.
