Riviana Foods Inc., the parent company behind the Carolina® rice brand, has introduced two new microwaveable rice pouch options: Ready to Heat Red Beans & Rice and Ready to Heat Basmati Rice. Both varieties are now available in the Northeast and through Instacart.
The products are part of Riviana’s effort to appeal to consumers seeking faster meal prep without sacrificing flavor. Each pouch is fully cooked and heats up in 90 seconds.
The Red Beans & Rice variety draws inspiration from New Orleans cuisine, pairing seasoned red beans with rice for a Southern-style meal in minutes. The Basmati Rice option offers the long-grain, aromatic texture typical of traditional basmati rice, ready to serve without the usual cooking time.
Rodrigo de la Fuente, Marketing Manager at Riviana Foods, said the new products are designed for busy households looking for convenience without giving up the comfort of a home-cooked meal.
These launches expand Carolina’s “Ready to Heat” line, which already includes Jasmine, Mexican Style, and Cilantro & Lime rice options, among others. The company says the new offerings are tied to its “Feels Like Home” campaign, focused on mealtime connection in today’s fast-paced lifestyles.
The new microwaveable pouches are now being stocked in select grocery stores and are also available online.
