Baberooklin Infant Mattresses Pose Suffocation Risk, Safety Officials Warn

Federal safety officials are urging parents to immediately stop using Baberooklin Pack and Play Mattresses after finding that the products can create dangerous gaps that put babies at risk of suffocation or entrapment.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the mattresses do not list which play yards they are designed to fit, making it easy for parents to unknowingly use them in unsafe combinations. Improper fit can leave spaces around the edges, where an infant’s face could become trapped against the side and mattress — a known cause of fatal suffocation incidents.

Around 1,600 of the mattresses were sold on Amazon between December 2024 and June 2025 for $20–$33. They measure about 38 by 26 inches and feature an “Aloe” cover with forest or animal themes. Some were also sold with off-white covers decorated with stars, clouds, and rainbows. Labels read: “IMPORTED BY UGK-LVM United Inc.”

No Recall, No Refunds

The seller, Beijing Futongshenghua Technology Co., Ltd., doing business as Baberooklin, has not agreed to recall the product or provide refunds. The CPSC has instead issued a Notice of Violation against the company.

Because Baberooklin is not cooperating, consumers are advised to dispose of the mattresses immediately and not to sell, donate, or give them away, to prevent further danger.

Consumer Guidance

  • Stop using Baberooklin mattresses right away.
  • Safely dispose of the product.
  • Do NOT attempt to resell or donate
  • Report any incidents or injuries to www.SaferProducts.gov.

⚠️ The CPSC stresses that unsafe sleep surfaces remain a leading cause of infant deaths and urges parents to use only mattresses specifically designed for and sold with their play yard model.
