McDonald’s is preparing to roll out a new menu item next month as part of its limited-time seasonal offerings.
Starting September 3, restaurants nationwide will feature a new sauce called Special Edition Gold Sauce, which the company describes as a blend of Carolina-style vinegar-based barbecue with added honey, mustard, and smoky notes.
The sauce will be available on the side or paired with several chicken items, including:
- Snack Wraps — returning with chicken strips, cheese, lettuce, and the new Gold Sauce.
- Bacon McCrispy Sandwich — with bacon, pickles, and Gold Sauce on a toasted potato roll.
- Deluxe Bacon McCrispy Sandwich — a variation adding lettuce and tomato.
- McCrispy Strips — served with Gold Sauce on the side.
The introduction of Gold Sauce also coincides with the return of the Snack Wrap, a menu item that has been absent from U.S. locations for more than a decade but maintains a strong following online.
McDonald’s confirmed that the sauce and menu variations will be sold only while supplies last.
