If you’re a fan of both Kraft Mac & Cheese and bagels, here’s something new to try. From October 9 through October 15, PopUp Bagels will offer a limited-edition “Kraft Mac & Cream Cheese” schmear that mixes the classic mac & cheese flavor with cream cheese for a fun new twist on your breakfast bagel.
This isn’t something totally new as plenty of people have been mixing cream cheese into their mac & cheese at home for a creamier bite. In fact, a recent study showed that about 35% of people say they add cream cheese to their mac & cheese. Now, that combo is getting its own spot on the menu at PopUp Bagels.
“At Kraft Mac & Cheese, we love celebrating the creative ways fans enjoy our product,” said Cheryl Barbee, Communications Director at Kraft Heinz. “Since the cream cheese ‘mac hack’ has been so popular, teaming up with PopUp Bagels was a no-brainer.”
Adam Goldberg, founder of PopUp Bagels, spoke on the partnership with a bit of nostalgia. “From the day I was tall enough to reach the stove, my parents would find me reaching for a bowl of Kraft Mac & Cheese. Getting to turn that childhood favorite into a schmear today is about as full circle as it gets.”
If you want to try this cheesy schmear in person, Kraft Mac & Cheese will be making a special appearance on October 10 at PopUp Bagels’ Penn Plaza location in New York City. They’ll be handing out free boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese and some other goodies to celebrate.
For those who want to plan ahead, the schmear will be available to preorder starting October 5 through the PopUp Bagels website. Otherwise, you can just swing by any PopUp Bagels store during that October 9–15 window and give it a taste before it disappears.
If you’re curious about how mac & cheese tastes on a bagel, this is the time to find out.
