Cuisinart has released a new single-serve coffee maker that skips disposable pods in favor of grinding fresh beans for every cup. The launch comes on the eve of National Coffee Day as at-home brewing continues to rise in popularity.
The Custom Grind & Brew™ Single-Cup Coffee Maker (DGB-30) is aimed at coffee drinkers who want the taste of fresh-ground coffee without the waste associated with traditional pod systems.
The machine includes a built-in conical burr grinder and can brew both hot and iced drinks in sizes ranging from 8 to 24 ounces.
According to industry data cited by the company, over 70% of Americans now brew their coffee at home. Cuisinart says users can save more than $135 per year by avoiding single-use pods, based on two cups per day.

The appliance accommodates both whole beans and pre-ground coffee, and offers strength controls for milder or bolder brews. It also features a removable drip tray for taller mugs and an “over ice” setting to brew stronger coffee for cold drinks.
By removing the need for pods, the machine reduces plastic waste — a growing concern among consumers — and positions itself as a more sustainable option for daily coffee drinkers.
The DGB-30 comes with a three-year limited warranty, notably longer than the typical one-year standard in the category.
The coffee maker is now available at major retailers including Crate & Barrel, Target, and Cuisinart.com for $249.95.
